Creating a DirectCD with WinodwsXP

How do you create a DirectCD with Windows XP? The only
funtion there appears to be is the ability to copy
selected files to the CD-R then have the cd created. How
do I mount a CD-R to act as a hard drive?

DirectCD is a third party product made by Roxio. If you wish to use it you
will need to purchase and install a copy.

You need third-party software to do this, like DirectCD.

If you mean any packet writing functionality on CD-RW CD's then yes - you
need Roxio ECCD 5 or later. Also there other programs like Nero InCD but the
formats are not interchangeable.

You have to buy Direct CD (now called Drag to Disk) as part of the Easy
CD creator pack. Or InCD as part of Nero. The inbuilt software
simulates the drag/drop, but does *not* burn in this mode. See more at

Weird name - I save to disk from within script files. Very rarely use
Windows Explorer.
