creating a backup of pc game

When I made a copy of my game using Easy CD Creater 5 then another one using
Nero. After I tried play the game on my computer using the backup copy, the
game didnt start. Why is this so. PS the burn was successful. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

How do I find the crc file. And is there any program that
automatically does this for you?

Contact the game manufacturer and ask if you can make a "backup" copy or
do they copy protect the CD and thus require you to get the backup copy
directly from them.
