Crashing Excel 2007

Just "upgraded" to 2007. I can't seem to keep Excel running for more than a
few minutes. Regardless of the type of sheet - complex VB-enabled interface
or simple table and chart - I get an "out of resource" error and then either
a crash or the interface goes wacky - undisplayed buttons, strange text on
error screen, etc. - like it is out of memory. This is making Excel
unusable. I am about to go back to 2003 just to get my work done!! - but
have also been warned that going back may be painful as in crash the system.

Running XP SP3, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 2GB RAM, IBM T43p Intel PM 2.13GHz),
updated video drivers, repaired 2007, removed and re-installed 2007. Still
having the same visual issue then crash.

I ran the Vista Upgrade Advisor you linked... no issues other than some
progams that may not work with Vista (DLA, Nero OEM).
