Crash

My comp seems to crash during games after running 1-10
minutes. I have tried everything like doing a hour long
memory scan, new vid card, updated all drivers, load my
comp with 7 fans and put a 1 foot in radius fan up to my
open case, added 150 watts more of power, and reformatted
my harddrive. My comp seems to freeze up and a sound just
starts repeating rapidly. The screen never changes and the
only way out is to manually restart. This crash has
happened while not playing game to, but after about 20
seconds my system unfreezes. PLease help I have invested a
lot of money on trying to find out why this is happening
and I am just about to junk this comp if I can't fix it.
Also i have seemed to noticed when i alt tab out of a game
that usually crashes my cpu usage is at 99% and usualy
when i alt tab out of other games it goes down to 1%. My
computer is well over all the requiremnts needed to play
these games. Thanks

Have you thought about buying an Xbox? Computers have never been designe
thoroughly to play games for they run at 32-bit but most games like Xbox ru
at 64-bit.

I know how those computer places work that fix comps and they rip you off. I built this comp myself and i wantto fix it without paying someone several hundred dollars for it. For that money i can buy a nice dell. I am think something is wrong with the amount of cpu usage the game takes up. It shouldnt be at 99% all the time even when I amalt tabed out and still in the menu part of the game.

this also sounds a bit like a stuck key. especially if the sound is
repeating at the KB repeat rate. if you are a normal person like all
of us, you will eventually spill something in the keyboard. flip the
KB over and bang it lightly on the table. See what pops out. If you
get a bunch of crumbs etc figure there are a lot more inside.

if you are comfortable with tools, disconnect the Kb and take it
apart. be sure to do this upside down so the keys don't fall out.

then wipe down the plastic pad with the wires on it. or if yours is
one with the full size rubber pad, you can rinse it off with running
water.

if the keys are latched in the KB, you can rinse it as well with warm
running water. if the keys are loose, you can stillrinse them, but ya
gotta be real careful....

shake the parts lightly let it all air dry - then reassemble, and
reconnect.

if you think this will happen again, wrap the KB in a layer of Saran
wrap. This also goes for TV remotes!!

good luck
