Crash?

Over the past 2 days after an automatic windows update,
my computer has had many problems. It started with there
not being a taskbar or start button, then repeated
symatec error reports, then not being able to open
certain icons, very slow internet access, not being able
to move icons, and now not even getting past the opening
windows screen. I can not get into safe mode. I can not
boot with a disk. Calgon take me away! Can someone help
me? Thanks

Uninstall service pack 2 from Add or Remove Programs. Read this article from
Microsoft's web site:

"What to Know Before You Download and Install Windows XP Service Pack 2"

After following all the instructions, install service pack 2 again.
