CPU Usage 100%

Hi..
i have this problem i cant figure out
The CPU usage is always 100% but when i check the processes, it says system iddle 98%
and when tryng to run anything it goes like a computer from world war 1. slow as hell. the cursor cant even move

Hope someone have an idea whats going on.. cause i have none..

How do you notice that the cpu is always at 100%? Which tool do you use?

You will always see 100%. System idle being high is good.
Idle = not doing anything. Thats normal.
What are the specs of your machine? Do you have enough
processor speed/memory to be running xp or the aplications
your using.
Your slow running problems are not system idle thats
normal. Please post back with some specs to start with.

Check for viruses (NAV, McAfee), check for popups (Spybot,
Adware), If none, make sure you have the latest patches
including SP1, If you have an all in 1 printer download
latest SW from manufacture.

You will always see 100%. System idle being high is good.
Idle = not doing anything.

The processor usage should never be at 100% except when
certain circumstances take place, ie, disk defragmentation,
file compression, and then it will NEVER be at 100% forever.

If the OP (original poster) has a slow processor or not enough
memory, his or her system will show itself to be at 100% for
longer periods of time.
