I don't know what happened, working fine to nothing - on power up windows
loading screen comes up and then goes black, to options start up window, from
that, I have tried normal start up, goes back into loop of restarts, it will
boot in safe mode, I tried sys restore, it restored some programs but windows
still won't boot, last known config doesn't work. I don't want to have to do
a reinstall, I tried chkdsk didn't fix problem, the event viewer says system
rebooted from bugck-application- run time enviro has detected inconsistency
in its internal state, potential instability in the process that could be
caused by custom components running in the Com + application. Also, in the
System info-Software Env-windows error reporting "Detection of Product" it
gives # - Another message "Malicious Script Detected" Computer is halted &
needs to do something about this "File system object - Activity = Get special
folder- the file Help Ctr.exe... Recommend stop this script I have tried
chkdsk has passed section 1 & 2 and sect 3 says something about free space
was allocated for some file sys but now has been freed. something like that.
There are too many error messages and info to put in this. I need some
advice . Also, the startup boot has several that failed to load. but in the
msconfg everything that should be loading is set to load..... Anyone with any
help? Please advise.

Uncheck everything in msconfig. If it boots, start re-checking items
until it stops booting again. If it still won't boot, remove all
external devices (printer - scanner - any USB devices) except for the
keyboard and mouse and see if that helps. If not, go back to safe mode
and open Device Manager. Look for problems there - red X's, question
marks, yellow exclamations ! . Remove any of these devices and try it
again. Still won't boot? Try an in-place upgrade:

Good luck,

Thank you for the info, I will try it tonight after I get in from work. I
have about come to my wits end on this. In safe mode I have done 2 sys
restores and both were successful but still it won't boot except in safe mode
afterwards. I'll let you know what happens after I try this tonight..

I tried doing as you said - everything is still the same. I know the drivers
for system startup and boot start are not loading but why ??? I don't know.
I have nothing new on the cp, no printer etc. It's a HP Compaq nx 9500
notebook. The only problem hardware device is where I disabled the wireless
connect. No conflicts nothing NetBIOS just one set of drivers that aren't
loading. still wish to try fixing without reinstall. I can't get the backup
to work & have lots of programs installed on pc that I don't have access to
anymore. More suggestions??? Thanks

I'm not sure how I did what ever I did, I went to system information and
clicked on Dr.Watson. It didn't look as if it did anything but afterwards I
went to msconfig and tried diag startup. rebooted and it booted windows up,
so I changed to normal startup and rebooted and IT BOOTED TO my normal
desktop. first time I've seen this screen in a couple of weeks. Thanks be to
my Higher Power for sure. I guess He fixes computer's too.... Just wanted to
INPUT that... Later,
