coverting from corel to word

Julie

I have been using wordperfect for doing my transcription
and i would like to start using Word but I am not sure
how i can utilize one of the best features on Corel in
Word. In wordperfect they have what is called
quickwords, which allows you to enter text in a paragraph
form with a just a few key strokes. I am having trouble
trying to locate how to do that in Word. I have found
quickwords but with that you can only use a limited
amount of words. Can anyone help?

Thank you
Julie

Hi, Julie,

Look up the two similar features, AutoCorrect (which is more like
quickwords) and AutoText. Neither of them has any limit on the number of
items you can store.

There are two functions in Word that offer a similar method of inserting
text - autotext (select the text you wish to save for reinsertion then
ALT+F3 and give it a name - insert from the menu or by type the given name
and press F3) and Autocorrect - select the text (tools > autocorrect) give
it a short code and typing that short code will 'autocorrect' to your text.
Both can contain all kinds of information from plain text to graphics,
tables etc.
