coupling 2 XP PCs

I have joined 2 XP PCs with usb line can transfer files but my canon i450
wont print
or recognise the no2 PC can anyone help.cheers hoagy.

Make sure File and Print Sharing is installed on the machine the printer
is connected to.
Right click on the printer you want to share and select "Sharing" from the
popup menu.
Select "Share This Printer" and type in a share name.
Click Apply > Ok.

On the other machine:
Click Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.
Double click "Add Printer" and click Next.
Select "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer" and
click Next.
Select "Connect to this printer.........." and type in the text input box:
\\Name of computer printer is attached\printer share name.
Click next and finish up with any instructions.
