Could not lock file error mesage.

IT gave read access to one of the users that is using an
Access XP database.She can open an .mdb file, but when she
is trying to open an .mde file she gets the message below.

Could not lock file. (Error 3050)
The operating system will not allow Microsoft® Jet to
create a lock file (.LDB) in the same directory where the
database file (.MDB) resides. You need to have write
privileges to the directory that contains the database you
are trying to open. This error can also occur if you are
trying to use the passive shut down/connection control
feature while the database is opened exclusively.

Any help will be very appreciated.

All users need full permissions on the folder, not just read permission.
