copying database

when I burn a backup copy of my database this is the message i get when i try
to open the backup copy.......Could not lock file. (Error 3050)
The operating system will not allow Microsoft® Jet to create a lock file
(.LDB) in the same directory where the database file (.MDB) resides. You need
to have write privileges to the directory that contains the database you are
trying to open. This error can also occur if you are trying to use the
passive shut down/connection control feature while the database is opened
exclusively.............What do I need to do to prevent this so I can open my
backup copy that is burned on a cd? john

You need to copy the file to a place where you can read and write. You also
need to unset the "read only" attribute of the file that gets set when you
burn anything to CD.
