Every wav file on my laptop is currupted-- meaning that
Windows Media Player will not play it. The wav file is
listed in WMP but shows up as a video file instead of
audio when I look at the properties.

Quicktime player will play it. No other media files are
currupted-- mp3, wma, etc.

Any ideas?

If the WAV plays in QT, then it's not corrupted. Look here...

Bob, open WMP/tools/options/File types tab
now tick Audio file/click Apply and O
The Audio file plays the WAV files
You may need to reboot.
