I am not able to play any *.wav files. I can play *.mid files and I can play
cd's automatically. I am using Windows Media Player 9.0 and have associated
*.wav files with Media Player. Please advise, Thanks, Bill

Open media player and go to tools, click on options and then the file types
tab. See if windows audio file (wav) is checked off? If it isn't check it and
click on apply then OK.

I have done as you suggested and it is checked off. Also, it experimenting, I
have found that using other media players, no *.wav files will play. Also, I
have tested the files on another computer and they play fine. Files are not
corrouped. All other file types are playing fine with Windows Media player.
Any further suggestiuons owuld be greatly appreciated. No Windows wav files
can be played on this machine. Bill

Try double clicking the speaker in System Tray to bring up Play Control.
Make sure Wave/MP3 isn't muted or turned down. If it isn't showing at all
click Options then Properties. Make sure Wave/MP3 is ticked for playback.
Failing that and Dennis's suggestions try re-installing soundcard drivers.

Thank you very much. What I found in the System Tray Sound Play Control was
that the volume level for only wav files was turned to off. I don't know
what caused that as they were playing a few days ago. I raised that up and
every thing is fine again, thanks again. Bill
