My friend has got problems accessing email in Outlook. She received two emails and was in the middle of reading one when her computer crashed. She rebooted several times but the emails have not reappeared. The 'Unread Mail' folder icon is faded and everytime the folder is clicked the following message appears: C:\documents and settings\friends name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst is in use and could not be accessed. Close any application that is using this file and then try again.
We have tried rebooting back to Tuesday but the same problem is there. Any helps?
Many thanks

Ensure you dont have two sessions of OL running, check under running
processess.
Use scanpst.exe to check/repair the pst, you may have to run this several
times.
Try detect/repair, within OL
