Corrupted internet explorer

Hi al
I had a virus on my internet explorer and used software called adware(which deletes ads) to delete it and it eventually corrupted my internet explorer
Now my OS is windows XP and the computer specialist told me I have to run my recovery disc
As this will delete my files and I don't want to have to go through putting them on CD, I'm wondering if there is
an alternative way to combat this probloem
Is it possible to remove internet explorer from windows XP
Or can I install netscape or even another internet explorer

Go to control panel, add & remove programs, add or remove windows component's, and uncheck the internet explorer check box
Then just reinstall it from another copy, I'm sure you will be able to find a magazine with a cd that has a whole heep of freebies on it. If not you could wait hours and download it (unless you have broadband)

Hope this help

If you cannot get to the net, then your Winsock may be damaged by removing
the malware.
Try this fix.

If no joy tell us what your current problem is with all the error messages.
