corrupt internet explorer

I do not have a general tab on my internet explorer to
delete temp inter. files. I tried to uninstall it but
cannot. Tried to reinstall it but cannot not, it says
that I have a newer version and stops the installation.
What can I do?

Fixes."

To remove the malware which probably caused this problem, work through the
solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

I went here and it told me to:"start,run enter sfc/scannow, and ok".
I typed in the sfc/scannow

That would be a typo.

and a box came up and said windows cannot find file,

That would be the consequence of making said typo.

what now?

Fix the typo and try again.
