In windows 2000 professional, after I copy a profile from user A to
user B, user B does not get the same desktop or startup programs as
user A. Both user A and B are power users with the same priveleges.
I'm copying the profile from User Profiles under System Properties in
the control panel. What am I missing here?

Thanks,

- Paul

You don't copy UserA to UserB. You completely setup UserA and when all facets of software
are configured you copy UserA to Default User and then have userB logon. UserB will the
inherit all settings in Default User and will be setup the same as UserA.

Thank you for this. Clears up some of the mystery for me, even thought I
didn't ask the question.

Here's more info...for WinXP:

You completely setup UserA and when all facets of software are configured you then have the
Administrator logon. You use the Administrator's account to copy UserA's profile to Default
User (change the attributes of the directory so it is not a Read/Only Hidden Directory).
Then have UserB logon. UserB will inherit all settings in Default User and will be setup
the same as UserA.
