My existing C: drive is failing and I want to copy everything to a new
drive to replace it.

What is the best way to copy everything across so that all my programs
work and I don't lose any data?

TIA

Most hard drive manufacturers either provide in box with their drive, or
provide on their website, a utility to clone your old drive to your new
drive.

WARNING: If you have ANY damaged Windows System or Software Application
files, those damaged files will be replicated to the new drive.

In other words, if your failing drive is already causing you problems, all
of those problems will be cloned to the new drive.

Just copy it, using any of the several disk cloning programs available. Most
hard drives either come with utilities to clone the old drive to the new, or
you can download one from the drive manufacturer's web site.

Failing that, there are several programs you can buy to do this, such as
Acronis True Image.
