Hello,

I have been using remote desktop to have access to our company server. I
work away from the office but access letters and other information from our
server. I usually copy and paste letters from remote desktop into my email
(been doing it for last 2 years) and send information to my clients. NOW no
go!!! I am terribly frustrated that I can't do this anymore as it has
extremely added time on to a schedule that can't afford to spend a lot of
time on this. Please ...... I need a fix for this problem before I huck my
computer out the window! PS this started last week. Months after I had
installed Windows Live (which I don't use anyway).

I see that I am not the only one on here wondering about what's happened with
pasting information into an email. It doesn't make sense that I have been
pasting information into my emails for years and now all of a sudden I can't.
Actually I haven't been able to do it since my computer last did a windows
update.

So you used Remote Desktop to copy a document and then pasted that
information into an email and it worked?

No, I did a simple copy & paste. I never use Remote Desktop.
As far as I know, the others who reported paste failures were not
using Remote Desktop.

I have been copy and pasting for the last 2 years also saves me lots of time
I went back and looked I received auto updates on 4-20-09 and every since I
does not work it crashes when I paste. and says windows mail has stopped
working!!

Gary found the cure for me if you received an update Security for Internet
Explorer7
(KB963027) that is the problem, I uninstalled it and all of my copy and
paste problems were fixed. Thanks Gary!!!! You made my work easier!!! Angie

It is wonderful your problem is resolved.
However, I installed the same update ( KB963027 ) on April 14th. See
screenshot.
I don't have any problem copy/paste or cut/paste.

Good to hear that you found the problematic Windows update.
To be sure, most users have had no problem with that update, so there
must be something else present on your system that is partly responsible
for causing the problem.

I'm not good at this computer stuff but I am having an issue with copying and
pasting. When I try I get a message that says that windows mail and/or the
internet has stopped working. I don;t know how to fix this problem. I've
never had this happen before and it's quite annoying. What is it that I
should uninstall? Thanx.

Did you recently install the new IE8 browser?
If so, that's a known issue that is affecting some who installed IE8.
Until such time as Microsoft releases a fix, all you can do is use one
of these two workarounds.

1) Uninstall IE8, which reverts you back to IE7.
2) Upgrade to Windows Live Mail.
