copy & paste

When I try to copy and paste text in Works 7.0 database, sometime I get
"<picture>" instead of the text.
In Quattro Pro 7.0, my text appears as a bitmap.
It doesn't do this every time, but often enough to drive me crazy!
How do I correct this?

Is there an edit -> paste special?

When I use paste special in Quattro Pro, it show the bitmap. If I recopy and
paste in another cell, sometime it will paste the text.
In Works, I just recopy and most of the time, it will paste the text.
