Pc: XP/SP3 4 G. RAM Office 2007- Internet Explorer 7.0
Something is going on with the clipboard on this pc, & I don't have a clue
where to look for the problem with it. I use Photobucket to store pictures &
images all the time, suddenly the Ctrl/paste will not work. Instead of
pasting the url for my image, it is showing text from an old Ctrl/C text
sentence, not the url. I CAN use Ctrl/c and Ctrl/V in Word, Wordpad, etc.
successfully, but cannot use these fuctions to copy and then paste an image
into a Forum I am a member of. I have always been able to do this easily in
the recent past. This particular forum, along with Photobucket, uses Direct
link to copy/paste. Another Forum uses IMG. I do not think it is related to
Photobucket, but something wrong on my pc.
I do NOT have this issue on my notebook, just on my desktop pc.
I have cleared cache, did a full shut down- still happening. only recent
change I remember is 10 Updates from windows on Wednesday, which included a
couple for Office.
Can someone give me direction on what to do and what to check?
I am not getting an error messages. Thank you for your help.

Could it be something as simple as:-

It may be something as simple as making sure the cursor is active when you
want to paste . Even though it looks active left click on the cursor anyway
and then right click to paste . See if this helps . <end quote>

....a common view, (after extensive Googlong), seems to be:-
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Windows-XP-3282/Copy-Paste-Problem-Inconsistent.htm

....also I had a quick rummage at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp.htm
....but, couldn't find a specific repair for XP clipboard.
It seems that losts of 3rd party applications / plug-ins can interfere with
XP clipboard.

So, ...that would seem to make it even more important to make a ssytem
restore point before allowing any changes to the system.
Have you tried dropping your XP platform back to just before the "10 Updates
from windows on Wednesday" were installed, ...might be worth a try :)
....of coruse if this proved negative, you'd have to reinstall them.

Slowly but surely pinpointing the problem. It MAY be one of two things, i
think, at this point. First there was a recent update to Adobe Flash 10,
which I had forgotten I did. There seems to be some compatiability issues
with it (from another forum information) And, I found that if i simply
highlight the direct link for my image in Photobucket, right-click, and then
click on 'Copy' that works. i will post back with what finally is the
correct solution to the problem. A poster on the other forum said she was
having the same problem with Photobucket tho, and had not updated Adobe.
Should note tho- I had NOT updated Adobe on my laptop yet, and did not have
an issue with it from the notebook.
If this continues to be an issue, I just may go back to Adobe 9 to test out
that theory.
I do thank you for your help! I can always go back with system restore- so
there is still another possible option.
