Copy and paste when trying to add pictures from websites?

Recently when trying to copy pictures from websites I found that some setting
or other had been altered unbeknown to me and now I can't get this facility
to operate properly or indeed at all. Does anyone know how I can make an
appropriate alteration to enable the copy & paste application to work once
again, if so please let me know what to do?
 
Do you mean you can't paste it into Word or at all? What do you mean by
"work properly"? Are you getting an error message?
