I am having problem with my mother's computer, so PLEASE
help me fix the nagging! She recently bought a PC with XP
on it, and started using it and logging into her Yahoo
Mail account. However, have had a problem dealing with
cookies and I cannot log into her account on the
computer...I keep getting the page that asks for password
even after I put in the password.

I orgininally thought it was that virus a while back and I
downloaded and installed the patch Microcrap put out, b ut
the problem is back. I have deleted cookies, deleted
history, etc and the problem keeps happening. Any
thoughts/help/suggestions? My mother will thank me, but I
will REALLY thank you!

Hi

Have you contacted Yahoo and asked for a new temporary password?

Heheheh.. There must be a way, but I've never been able find a way to
get the people at Yahoo a message. It must be difficult on purpose.
Of course I am using their functions free. I'd like to tell them
their new Messenger 6.0 sucks big time, because it lost the ability to
simply "join a friend in a chatroom" without being invited - a major
function, especially for me, because I am a member of a Yahoo
Messenger based chatroom group.

To Eric: What happens when you type in the password & press enter? I
do not understand what you mean about cookies.. Are you trying to log
in from a different computer? It sounds to me like her password or
Yahoo ID is wrongly entered. Don't forget not to put the whole email
address in there, but her yahoo ID - the part before the @ thingy.

Besides the point, don't forget to have your mom run a firewall (XP
had a built-in firewal,l but it must be turned on). And download and
use the "Adaware" anti-spyware program. Also, a good free antivirus
program is "AVG 6.0".
