Converting MOV files

Hi everyone! Hope you can help a relative newbie.

I've used WMM to make movies using pictures with audio and that worked out
fine, but now wanted to also add some short video clips interspersed with the
pictures. Problem is, my camera is a Kodak Easy Share and the videos are MOV
files, which I found isn't compatible with WMM. So after some reading on
these boards, downloaded RAD Video Tools and converted the MOV files to AVI
files. Problem is, when I do that, the videos I took slow down considerably
and suddenly the short movie project I'm working on is "over 6 hours"! Most
of the videos I took were under one minute. I know I'm probably doing
something wrong when I convert the file, but can't seem to figure out what it
is. Any suggestions for me? All help is greatly appreciated!
