converting lotus database into Access

Hi,

I've been asked to convert a Lotus Approach database into either Microsoft
Access or Excel. The database contains several menus and sources of data.
When I try to save them as Dbase IV I keep getting a message saying that
there are too many files open and to close some and start again. Access
cannot open the file directly - it doesn't recognise the Approach file. Any
suggestions?

Hi Pete,

It would appear not - the only options I have are:

Lotus Approach 9 APR
SmartMaster MPR
Lotus Approach APT
HTML
RTF
TXT

When I get to the list for the database there is an option for an mdb file,
but my system doesn't recognise it or the ODBC version. I looked for a CSV
file first but couldn't find one in the lis

How does the TXT export look? MS Access can import fixed-width files as well
as delimited files.

Hi Pete,

As a text only file, it only imports the page I have open and that is
imported in one column. I'm not very experienced with Access and it did ask
me to put in the field separators but I wasn't sure what to do so accepted
the file as it appeared. The file had squares which i took to be the
separators but it came through as one column.

Is this stuff secret? If not, how about flipping me the .TXT file via eMail or
just posting here?
