Converting contacts

We have a list of contacts (global Address List) that is used for email and
blackberry purposes. This list is updated through our network active
directory. Is there any way to have this list added to all users contacts to
be displayed as business cards, address cards...ect. This list needs to be
linked (not a copy) so it will continue to update from active directory?

So everyone in the company has access to this updated list which provides
email, home phone, mobile phone, home address..ect.

Not without a 3rd party utility.

Why do you want to do this? There might be better options.

They don't have access to the GAL?

We would like to add them to each persons personal contacts and the GAL does
not contain all the information the active directory has.

That's a colossal waste of storage. What's not in the GAL that you want
there?

Various information...Home phone, address, organization ect...

When I open a person in the GAL, I see quite a bit of organization
information, like direct reports, manager, business, mobile, pager, fax, and
home phone numbers. I see only one mailing address (which we use to hold the
business address), though.

I think the issue here is usability. We'd like the entries in the GAL to be
viewable in the same way that local "Contacts" are viewable - i.e. Business
Cards, Address Cards, Phone List…

This would benefit users in a couple ways:
1. They wouldn't have to right-click and choose properties from inside the
GAL to view extended details (details which are in there via A/D but not
conveniently viewable via the default view in the GAL).

2. If there were a way to keep this view of the GAL in sync with A/D then
users could also have the full GAL sync to their mobile devices. Waste of
space - yes. Easier/faster than waiting for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
to complete the Lookup - absolutely. But let's not get started on BES…

If there is a 3rd party tool - I haven't been able to find one that does it
and meets the main criteria of keeping the local machine copy synchronized
with A/D
