You PROBABLY want this:

The shortcut (.lnk file) is returned instead of the file or the folder ... :

There is a slim chance you want this:

You cannot open files that have extensions such as .exe, .com, and ... :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923077

There's also a good potential for you wanting this:

G³ - Windows > All Platforms + General: Malware Cleaning and Repair:
http://kgiii.info/windows/all/general/malwarefix.html

Either way, try the first one and as it has to do with an update then the
charge is nothing for repair. If you REALLY want to be sure then try the
second fix first and, regardless, when you're done with either of them check
the last link.

Hi Shreyank,

I would suggest using system restore and if you are not able to perform this
in normal start mode, then i suggest using the F8 key and choosing safe mode,
there you will be able to remove or uninstall sp2 from the control panel or
system resore. Then you can try to reinstall sp2.

I have left a link for you to read. http://support.microsoft.com/KB/875350
