Hi

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

If this doesn't help, in the German newsgroup, one person fixed the
same type of error by reinstalling IE
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]

The article above also tells you how to repair Internet Explorer 6.0

See tip 6032 at http://www.jsiinc.com/reghack.htm as well

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).

If the problem persists, you'll could do an in-place upgrade of the OS and see
if it helps:

Instead of registering or updating the registry manuall as the support link
suggests , is there a patch to download, which can be run on the
machine to fix this . I am quite skeptical about editing the registry and
registering individual dlls.

Hi

Re-registering those three dlls are quite harmless...
