I recently installed Windows XP on my computer, which has
the following specs:
- P4, 1.7 GHz
- GA-8IRXP motherboard with Promise 20276 Raid controller
- Dual Maxtor 30GB Hard-Drives (configured in RAID-0 with
a 10GB, 20GB, and 30GB partition)
- ATI Radeon 9600 XT
- Sound Blaster Live MP3
- 3C905B Network Card 10/100
The original OS was win2K, but I formatted the OS drive
(10GB partition) FAT32 during install because I wanted a
clean load (the other partitions contain files only -- no
programs). I have the correct driver for my RAID array,
and the install program accepts it without difficulty.
However, during device driver installation, I receive an
unspecified Windows Logo Testing Error. I have no means
of telling which device is causing the error. However,
installation completes and the system reboots. However,
the OS boot sequence never initiates; the computer
reboots and then politely asks me if I would like to try
booting into safe mode or last known good configuration
(there isn't any, since I formatted). Booting into safe
mode yields the same result. The computer reboots again
on its own. Can anyone provide any advice.
Sincere thanks,
Chet
