Context Menu Delay After Right Click

Danny

There is an annoying delay after right clicking on an
application or document from windows explorer. It takes
anywhere from 10 to fifteen seconds for the context menu
to appear after right clicking. The same delay is present
when double clicking to launch a program. It only seems
to happen with files that have file associations,
like .txt or .doc files. There is no delay when right
clicking on Windows components like "My Computer" or the
desktop. Its a new install of XP, SP1 all MS patches,
Norton System Works (only NAV and Ghost installed).
Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Danny

Chris,

Thanks for the reply post, but that's not it. Once I have
right clicked and the context menu finally comes up, I
can repeat the right click without delay for a few
minutes. After about five minutes of inactivity, the
delay will happen again. Its not a huge problem, but it
just shouldn't happen on P4 3.2 GHZ machine. (And it
doesn't happen on any other machine I own.)
