Contacts Too many Groups Totally Lost

I have too many Contact Lists and if, when I am addressing an e-mail, I
get a different contact list if I go to the "to" button then if I go to the
address book. I am toally confused. Under MY CONTACTS, there must be 10
different contact lists. And the contact list that I get from my "to" button
is not in this list.

I guess I need a source to understand how the address book works and start
anew

If you talk about contacts -folder, that you can´t see it when you try to
select dl-list behind To-button.

Go to Contacts- folder and then File -> Folder -> Properties -> Outlook
Address book tab and select Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book.

If this is grey go first to Tools - E-mail accounts (Outlook 2003) and add
Outlook address book to work under your profile.
