Contacts not shown as email address book

Outlook 2002 w sp2, Windows 98. Outlook will not display
the ocntacts folder as an email address book. I have
checked and unchecked, removed all address books and re
added. one thing I noticed is when I check the box to
display as an email address book and close Outlook and
open backup the box is unchecked. Any ideas would be
appreciated.
 
There is no tid id in the link, and I did remove address
book service and closed Outlook, restarted and added back
same thing, but I would like to check out link.

Remove and reinstall the Outlook Address Book Service. Take a look at this
