Isn't this fun? Not just sorting out XP problems but interpreting pidgin
English too!

For "Durable" I think I read "permanently"

Let's assume that you have been to Control Panel / Add Remove Programs > and
UNINSTALLED the unwanted software... If it STILL shows up on the start > list
(which is very unlikely) previos posts show how to remove it.

Right click on the listed item and then choose "remove from this list"

PS Did you by any chance use translation software to make this post?

OK, sorry for my bad/inaccurate English.
However, how can I remove those items they never appear any more ?
Associated software shall stay installed. I use it indeed.
On the last-used-apps list I wish to have the most important app icons
only. It should be my decision if particular app is important or not.
Setting "Number of programs on the start menu" to 0 is no solution.
Cause I'm using this list indeed.
Unimportant app icons just shouldn't waste this list.
"remove from this list" is no solution cause the icons appear once again
on the list on next app launch.

You can't, it's XP who determines what should go into that list, and it will
update it each and every time you start an application. That's the reason I
never used it and prefer the "classic" Start menu: I want my user interface
to always stay the same and not to change every time I use it.

Also, when using the "classic" Start menu, you can put at its top the
shortcuts to the applications you use most often; you just need to create
them inside "C:\Documents and settings\YourUserName\Start Menu".

You can't...

Well, thanks for constructive feedback.
Allow me next question please.
The manner how most icons are to be removed from the list
is known to me.
But how can I do for apps like Adobe Acrobat Reader, MS Office
Components,... Each of them in current releases.
They don't fit to the regular removal scheme.

I've already provided a response to your question that outlined how to use
TweakUI to accomplish your goal. If that suggestion wasn't up to your standards,
try this;

Set the "Number of programs on the Start menu" to 0. Next, click on your Start
button and navigate through the All Programs list to the programs you want
displayed on the left hand side of the Start menu. Right click on the program
and select "Pin to Start menu" from the menu. If there are other programs you
want to add to the list, locate the executable file and pin it to the Start
menu.
