Console Hangs

I've got a server that is fully patched up.

Its a 2 x 2.8Ghz Xeon 1Gb ram DC controller on a very light network but when
going into the AD MMC, or my computer, drives, even a text document, etc the
console will hang for a period of time and then burst into life again.

Has anyone see anything like this. I just don't know what to search for.

All the apps loaded I've used in loads of place before, I'm sure its not
them.

Any ideas???

Whats about your DNS Settings. Are those OK?
Do you start dsa.msc or your own MMC?
