Connedtion problem

I am trying to install a program (telus ecare) and I get the a popup saying
the 'program cann`t detect an active connection.' But I am connected to the
internet as my browser and email work. I recently reinstalled xp home with
updates which included sp2.
I have 20 gb disk
512 ram
telus help desk have been unable to solve the problem, Any suggestions?

It sounds like the Windows Firewall is preventing the Telus program from
accessing the Internet. Add the program to the Exceptions list in the
Firewall settings.
