Connection Wizard fails on "Name" question

Larry

I had some BSOD's last week and it was necessary to do a
Repair on my W2K install. I have not been able to setup a
dial-up connection via the wizard. It never accepts any
name that is provided. I have noted several other people
with this same problem in the General newsgroup. There
doesn't seem to be any fix for
this problem. I followed the recommendations found in
Q318183 with no change in results.

I need to get back my dial-up connection.

Has this been caused by the recent fury of worms and
viruses?

You may be BLASTED

Try an online scanner from symantec; caught a hidden file that none of the others
found.

If it comes up with an infection, be sure to print the instructions and do them
exactly as they say.
All infections are different, and some that have written them count on the fact
that victoms will not understand the importance of completing all that is
necessary, and will have miserable problems until forced to Clean Install.

hope it works for you.
