Connection timed week

Jorge Pérez

We have been using TS for almost two years to connect to our remote server
but since one week or so we are receiving the following error message:

"The connection to the server has timed out. Try connecting to the Terminal
server again."

I will really appreciate any guide. We nedd to solve this problem urgently.

Thanks in advance,

Jorge Perez

Is there anything in the EventLog on the server when your connection
is refused?
Are you running W2K or Windows 2003 on the server?
Is the server running TS in Remote Administration mode, or
Application Server mode (assuming W2K)?

Thank you very much Vera, now the problem is solved. It was a problem with
my ISP.

Cool, I was about to suggest that this is a name resolution problem and you should check that the client can resolve the name of the terminal server you're connecting to. I don't like to use IP Addresses for remote connections because these could change, but if the ISP's name resolution is not wonderful then connecting via IP Address can make a big difference
