Connecting to Internet from Windows 2000 over Network

Hi,

I have a network that runs fine and all the clients can
connect to the Internet through Internet Connection
Sharing on a Win98 box. One laptop (Win2000) can see the
network and copy files across it etc, but cannot browse
the internet. All the other PCs (1 desktop and 1 laptop)
can copy files and browse the internet fine.

I simply cannot find the problem with the laptop that wont
browse the Internet. It used to and then stopped for an
unknown reason (nothing was installed or uninstalled). I
have IE6 SP1 + all latest updates...

Thanks.

Make sure the laptop has IE set to detect proxy settings
automatically (Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections ->
LAN Settings...), and that the IP address is obtained
automatically (the ICS computer will assign it an IP) and
that it doesn't have a static IP.

Ok - Discovered problem. A number of the Network services
had stopped (were on Manual for some reason) and were
preventing the Internet from being accessible. I reset
them to Automatic and rebooted and its working fine...

However I have no idea how these services were altered or
stopped ?

At least its working now... :)

ICS isn't a proxy. IE should have all those setting cleared and should be
run as if there is no proxy, .....because there isn't a proxy.
