I can't seem to connect to windows 2000 operating system
files . . I keep getting a request for a password to
access shares called IPC$ . . . I don't have a password.
How do I connect to the windows 2000 files? XP Operating
systems have no problem and there is no problem
connecting from windows 2000 to XP 98 and 95 operating
systems.

On the Windows 2000 computer you must go into the User tool in the Control
Panel and create a user with the same name (and password, if one is used)
that is used to log onto the Windows 98/95 computers.
