Accessing Windows 2000 System

Our organisation has a small LAN on Windows NT.
I am not able to access(Shared Foleder) Windows 2000
System from Windows 98 , but I am able to ping it. But I
am able to access from another Windows 2000 System.

When I try to try to access Windows 2000 from Windows 98 (
Find -> Computers -> IP), it is saying that

"You must specify a password to connect this System"
192.168.10.15//IPC$

My problem is How to access the shared folders in Windows
2000 from Windows 98 with out any password

Win2K requires that a user attempting to access its resorces/shares be
authorized. Create a user on the win98 computer and the same user on the
win2K computer. Use the same username/password on both computers. Logon to
the win98 computer using this username/password.

Actually, by default the Guest Account in windows 2000 is disabled, if
you enable it, and give it a password, whenever that box pops up when
accessing the w2k machine through windows 98, use the guest password
it will access it fine.

This even works if windows 98 is configured without users

That is true but the guest account is not as secure and my recommendation
is to create an authorized user rather than a generic guest. But you can do
it whichever way you want. The guest account will work as you stated.
