Configuring Outlook Profiles

I have Vista nad I'm attempting to use Outlook Help to configure individual
profiles that I can switch from one to the other. Problem is, when I go to
Control Panel, Users, I don't have 'Mail' option! I have one profile in
Outlook configured ... I configured it right in Outlook. I want the ability
to have multiple profiles but don't know how I'm going to do that if I can't
find Mail Setup.
Your help will be appreciated.
 
Do you have an Outlook icon on your desktop? If so, right-click |
Properties should give you the same Outlook setup panel.

Control Panel, Users is NOT where the Mail icon is located. It's just in
Control Panel.
 
Once you are in the Control Panel, on the left hand side pane, there should
be "Switch to classic View" click this and you will then see the Mail Icon

Of course you are correct - I don't use the Categories view of Control panel
and rather assumed the OP wasn't either...
 
That's the problem, it's not in either place!!!
Also, I right clicked on Outlook's icon and went to that Properties but it
doesn't look the same or do the same thing that the Help file is showing me.
I don't have a Mail icon! I have a new PC/Vista ... everything is up to
date as far as Window's Updates go.

Hmm. Might be a silly question, you have DEFINITELY installed Outlook?
 
Yes, Microsoft Office 2007 is installed. Outlook as well. I phoned Dell
hoping for resolution and was told the problem is because the PC is 64-bit
and Outlook 'probably' only supports 32-bit! Do you buy that?

Ah. In that case - I think that in 64bit versions of Windows there's a "View
32bits" section in Control Panel?
 
Pretty enlightening Gordon! Now why couldn't Dell's special "Tech Team"
support answer that! I found 'Additional Options' in Control Panel, and now
I see the "Mail" icon. I can't thank you enough.

.... throughout the day on my old XP running Outlook Express, I could easily
switch back and forth from 'identity' to identity. So this means I would
need to close Outlook and open it for each account I want to check! It's a
deal breaker. I need an email client that will operate like Outlook Express
on XP. Do you know of anything I can purchase?

You can have multiple email accounts in one profile and use rules to
separate the incoming mail....

Well known and documented all over the place time and time again.

switch back and forth from 'identity' to identity. So this means I would
need to close Outlook and open it for each account I want to check! It's a
deal breaker. I need an email client that will operate like Outlook Express
on XP. Do you know of anything I can purchase?

Then use Windows Mail, which is the Vista equivalent of Outlook Express.
 
We tried rules, but not all members participate to create new rules as
needed, the inbox is a mess and sent is a combination of all accounts.

Windows Mail doesn't support profiles/identities like I want to use them
either. It is different that Outlook Express. Now, on the other hand,
Windows Live Mail has a variation, allows separate inbox, sent, junk,
deleted, etc. but everything is all together on the side bar which doesn't
allow for any privacy. We don't need password type security/privacy but a
completely separate profile/identity 'is' needed.

I was under the impression that Windows Mail does have identies exactly like
Outlook Express, but clearly that's not true. Create separate Windows user
profiles for each person or live with how profiles work in Outlook.
