How can I configure my email server to block emails that
contains file attachments that are commonly used to
spread viruses, such as .vbs, .bat, .exe, .pif and .scr
files.

Outlook Express and Outlook are email clients, not servers.

Is this for a work email address? Or do you use them to
check email from your ISP or a free account like Yahoo?

Ok. You are referring to your email client, not an email server. Starting
with Outlook Express 6, you have the ability to automatically block
potentially harmful attachments. Under tools go to options, then go to the
security tab. Make sure that you check the box that says "Do not allow
attachments to be saved.....that could be a virus".

Thank you. I will do that. About email server, would that
be my internet provider? I use 3web.

This is for a home email and work email. I use then to
check email from ISP. It is not a free account.

Yes you would have to speak with your ISP about the mail server. I'm not
familiar with 3web though.
