A friend of mine is installing XP in my new computer. But I didn't mention
the name I wanted to give the computer, and she put my first name, which I
find rather dangerous. Can I change it later?

JL,

Right click My Computer, choose Properties. Click the Computer Name tab,
then the Change button to "rename this computer ... ".
Leave the check mark next to " Workgroup " unless it's part of a Domain.
Click OK.

Here you can replace the computer name, owner and organization.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

You can change the name of the computer and the owner but you can't
change the name of the User profile under C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>. If you want to change that to a different name,
you'll need to create a new profile with the name you want, login to it
at least once, then if you need any of the information from the original
profile copy the information from it to the new one, then delete the old
one.
