Computer stops responding

I have been having problems with my computer suddenly stopping responding, or
freezing. Ultimately I have to reboot. The error message that is generated
upon restart is "STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER". I have
followed all of the action dictated in the associated KB article, including
replacing my video card. Nothing seems to cure the problem. So I am bringing
my problem to the group to see if someone has cured this malady before.

I Googled the error message and there were lots of hits:

2 diffrent ways to start,1st open event viewer & locate the error/warning,
posted when pc stopped responding.R.click on it,properties.Also,click on the
url enclosed with it,this opens "KB help & support" usually with a fix to
it..The
2 ways to fix the problem,read kb310560,the other is by going to run,type:
VERIFIER However one should read microsofts article(s) on how to use it....

This refer to a bad hardware/driver, especially Video Card driver, try to
update your Graphic Card driver from the manufacturer.

I strongly recommend that you go to your video card manufacturer’s website
and download and install the latest drivers for your video card. This is
important, especially if your system hangs-up when using Windows Movie Maker.
NVIDIA drivers can be found at :
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp.
ATI drivers can be found at :
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html. For other chipsets, do a search for
your particular chipset manufacturer on yahoo or msn ..etc.
