computer spounds like the chipmunks

Hello

Running Win 2000 Proff on a pIII1g 512mb ram machine when any sounds are
either played or cds palyed it plays much faster that it is supposed ???

Correct drivers are installed and the machine has been trojan/virus checked
and updated.

This is usually a driver problem. Check with the manufacturer of the audio
card.
