Audio playback sticks/jumps

Hi,

I have upgraded my ASUS M2N-E with its AD1988B to a faster CPU (AMD 9950
quad) and faster Graphic card (Geforce 9600GT). I also had to update the
BIOS to the latest to support the faster CPU.

Since then, I can not play sound (MP3 files, radio stream) correct under
Win XP (it works under Win7 - dualboot ;-)). It does not matter what
player I use to play, its always the same.

The sound is like there are scratches on a CD. Every about 5 to 10
seconds the sound kinda 'jumps'/'hangs'.

I deinstalled and reinstalled the driver with no success.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Franz

Try updating Direct X...Also,open device mgr, expand the sound tree,R.click
the sound hardware (1 at a time),select "uninstall",do w/o restarting pc,once
thru,exit xp,shutdown pc.If you have a PCI sound card,maybe move card to
another PCI slot, restart pc.XP will reinstall the card...
