Computer Shuts down and restarts etc.

My computer has also developed a problem with shutting down and restarting etc.
Firstly I was unfortunate enough to get Blaster worm and Welchia worm in october this year (sucessfully removed) , I had no problems with my PC prior to that. Since then my computer decides to shut down when ever it wants too. Sometimes it will then restart itself. the lenght of time that the computer runs varies from a few minutes to a few hours. I ususally switch off the main power supply to the computer after shutting it down. If I leave the power on the computer switches itself on and off. This also varies in time to a few minutes to a few hours. Occassionally my keyboard also starts to play up i.e. press a key nothing happens or press a key and it repeats itself several times. I have ran two different virus checkers and both show that the worms are no longer on my computer.
It has been suggested that it is a hardware problem but, why would the computer start up again on its own?

You can change this in System Properties/Advanced tab/Startup and
Recovery button. Uncheck the Automatically restart on error box.

You can view error events in Event Viewer logs. The error will now be
displayed on the blue screen [of death]. Copy down the exact wording
for additional help.

While in System Properties, select the Hardware tab/Device Manager
button and review any devices with yellow or red notations. Report
these.
