Hi,

Can anyone help. Installed Xp with SP2. At first I noticed that at power
down it said "It is now safe to switch off your PC, rather than auto power
off. When I manually switch off, about four or five seconds later the power
turns back on, and the PC re-boots as per normal.

Have done a virus scan with latest signatures, (+ Sasser).

Config

GA 7ZXR
1GHz AMD Athlon
512MB Memory
AOpen 64MB AGP card
Maxtor 40GB HD, (split into two)

Many thanks in advance

Eddie

Try the suggestions on this page perhaps:

Thanks Michael the URL looks very interesting. I must admit that I thought
the problem must be in the BIOS, because it was powering off for a few
seconds. It only started after I put a couple of extra cards in for my
daughter, (modem and firewire interface). Looks like modems can cause this
problem, so I'll try swapping them around.

Thanks again

Eddie
