Power on/off on my computer works badly with power switch - sometimes computer runs on by itself, so

Seems that there is some senseless timer:-( There are two ways how my
problem occurs:

1.) I have got my PC turned on. When I finish with work and want to
turn off my computer, I shut it down by the standard way (in windows,
off course). Then computer truly turn off and is off. But about after
5 minutes it runs on all by itself, just absolute automatically... So
I have to hold the power switch for five seconds and just after then
the computer stay off. It's little complicated turning off... :-( I
can normally turn the computer on. BUT there I get also some
problem.Read bellow.

2.) When I want to turn on my computer I can do ONLY IF I didn't pull
out and plug back the power point before. I mean, the power is back,
but computer doesn't run. I can push the power switch on and on and it
doesn't turn on the computer. But after some while (about 20 minutes)
it runs on just by itself whole automatically...

Has anybody an idea what strange it could be?

what have you set your power switch to soft off or OFF? look in 'power options' in the
control panel.
It seems as though your switch maybe sticking or malfunctioning.
Do you have the confidence to remove the switch wires from the mainboard?
You could temporarily use the 'reset' button wires to become the power switch(if yours
even has a reset)
or just jump the power terminals with a screw driver to turn on the system.
this will eliminate the switch as the culprit.

In the bios (setup) do you have any 'wake on' power options enabled?
Also what settings are ENABLED in power options? Disable them all. and set power switch to
OFF if the option is available.

Hello,

I'm sure the power switch is ok, I checked it with voltmeter, its
contact works perfectly... Must be somewhere inside in computer like
in mainboard or OS... I also look in BIOS and in power options and it
seems there ain't set no options about auto turn-on or turn-on's
avoidance, there even aren't any timer's power-ups setting... I
thought, there could be some bridging on mainboard, which could reset
this behaviours...

I will contact technic support of producer this mainboard (gigabyte),
maybe they could know what's going on there...

Thanks for advice:)
Regards Michael!
