computer locks up

Standby mode used to work fine but in the last week my computer won't come out of standby. I have to hit the reset button and the computer reboots.
 
I had a similar problem,turns out it was the monitor was
going out,the pc itself was running the whole time,if you
have another monitor,try that after the pc goes into
standby.Just hook the other monitor up while it is in
standby and see what happens when you move the mouse.
